Open Up Your Heart

I think I have written before that my Yoga instructor is constantly encouraging me to “open up my heart.”

She is encouraging me to throw back my back and open up my chest. A computer keyboard encourages one to hunch, and she is trying to get me to stretch the muscles of my chest so it naturally opens up rather than closes down.
Every time she mentions the exercise I can’t help but think about doing more than stretching my chest muscles.
What can I do today, this week, and this month to open up my heart to family, friends, and others in need.
Each of us has a heart that is worthy of sharing, imagine yourself playing the same role a friend did for you in your time of need.
Most people don’t need your money, your sympathy, or your telling them what to do. They simply need “a little piece of your heart.”
