Silence

Silence is the cornerstone of character — Charles Eastman

This time every four years I yearn for silence. Anyone can verbally attack another, anyone can be a verbal bully. Anyone can use words to hurt and vilify. Sarcasm and harsh words seem to be the preferred weapon of those who at the same time want our vote and ask us to let them lead.
The Sioux remind us that it takes a warrior to be silent. Silence can be more powerful than any volley of harsh and nasty words. The Sioux remind us to be still and know.
