Helping Others

Doing nothing for others is the undoing of ourselves. — Horace Mann

The television commercials that tug at my heart strings are the ones where someone does something for someone else. Everyone knows the feeling when something just hits us and we help someone out of the blue. Each time we do so we feel whole.

Guess what — helping others is calorie free, good for our inner and often our physical health, and is often cheaper than a rock concert or a new outfit.

We exercise regularly for a reason. We pray regularly for a reason. We schedule vacations for our mental health.

Isn’t it time to find one activity that helps others and make it a regular event on your schedule?
