Gratitude

Gratitude is the heart’s memory — French Proverb.
My week in NW Arkansas filled me with gratitude. I had the opportunity to visit with old teammates and friends, new friends, my sister, and old colleagues.
I was equally as grateful to be able to return to the 8th Circuit, a body I spoke to 23 years ago at the request of my friend Chief Judge Richard Arnold. It took courage on behalf of the host committee to invite me and my heart was filled with their welcome.
Life has a funny way of returning us to our memories at just the right moment — to remind us and fill us again with gratitude.
