Life’s Meaning

Life’s Meaning. Maybe it’s not so much found, as it is made. — Opus

Auggie, the little boy in the Opus cartoon gazes at the stars and wonders if there’s hope for finding meaning in life. Opus responds with the above, as he cares for his friend who has fallen asleep in the meadow.

Haven’t we all wondered about our purpose, our call, our reason for being, and like Auggie whether there is meaning in our life.

When I used to play sports from time to time the coach would yell out to me or one of my teammates, “You’re thinking too much! Just go until you break glass, quit thinking and just play the game.” The coach knew we had practiced the play enough, it was time to run it for real and let our training and instincts take over. Thinking is not a bad thing in sports, but it does make one hesitate, and in that moment of hesitation you can be beaten by your opponent.

Life’s meaning will become apparent the moment we start living.
