Past

“The moving finger writes; and having writ, moves on: nor all your piety nor wit shall lure it back to conceal half a line. Nor all your tears wash a word of it.” — Rubaiyat

There is so much each of us would love to take back, but it is already written. One of the most beautiful parts of the story of Jesus was he never looked back on the past when calling his followers. He cared not about their past sins or indiscretions, he only cared about their hearts and their futures. “Go and sin no more,” were not just words for the woman who was about to be stoned. It is his call to us as well.

Waste not a moment on rationalizations, excuses, or explanations for your past, but simply start writing the next chapter.
