Monday In the Second Week of Lent

I read recently phrase that has stuck with me. It is part of a prayer and it goes, “Speak peace to the chaos, Lord, where the madness continues to swirl.”
The Lenten season is how each of us in our own individual way try to bring peace to our own unique chaos. Whether our chaos be our work, the constant demand of children, our health, or all of the former and a whole lot more.
Lent offers us an opportunity through prayer, meditation, fasting, and service to bring a little bit of order to our chaotic existence, especially with God’s help.
Chaos doesn’t disappear during Lent, but remember that even during a hurricane we can find stillness in the eye of the storm.  Let your Lenten discipline be your own personal eye of the storm.
