Constructive Criticism

Ever hear the truism, “A lawyer who defends himself has a fool for a client.” I know it to be true.
There are times when we shouldn’t even try to fix ourselves, because it is difficult if not downright impossible to constructively criticize oneself. We find ourselves asking ourselves “what is the matter with me?” or “how could I be so stupid.” These type of questions lead to morbid reflection or remorse. We find ourselves going down the spiral staircase of life rather than ascending.
Instead we should be asking, “What will I do next time?” Asking this question will make every mistake a learning experience and replaces regret/remorse with wisdom.
Every time we take a failure, mistake, or defect and make it a positive we build our soul. We ascend life’s stairway.
