Like A Child

My yoga instructor reminded me this morning that as we get older we become more childlike. It caused me to think as she twisted and stretched my old body.
Maybe we become more childlike as we get older because we begin to lose those layers of worldliness we accumulate beginning as teenagers. Things become less important, simple pleasures become more important again, and we become more forgiving and loving once again.
Maybe our soul remembers the words of Christ that said “whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.”
As we get older we regain our humility, seek out simplicity in our lives, and know the value of love.
So as you get older take it as a compliment when people say, “You are acting like a child.” I certainly do.
