Self-Interest

It is hard to get past one’s own self-interest.

We each face our own worldly demands, bills to be paid, children to be raised, food to be put on the table, and after all what’s wrong with wanting something for oneself every now and then?
Before we know it though, seeking only for ourselves leads us into a prison of isolation.
There is a reason why early followers used to say “In God’s service, we find perfect freedom.”
Unconditional love and generosity doesn’t bind us, they set us free.
