Pope Francis

The Pope has left the country and only time will tell whether his visit had a lasting impact or not. I hope it did.

Suzy and I noticed the same thing about the media coverage of his visit — every reporter who reported on the Pope had a special smile on his or her face as they spoke into the camera.
I admit finding myself smiling as I watched as well. Why is this do you think? Perhaps there is part of each and everyone of us that craves the spiritual. Part of us knows when he talks about loving our neighbor, feeding and caring for the poor and needy, and preserving our planet that he speaks the truth — God’s truth.
Whatever one’s faith or religion, we admire a willingness to speak out for one’s beliefs, whether we agree with all or not.
The message he preached wasn’t a new one, its been handed down over 2000 years, but it was good for me to hear it once again, and meditate on how to follow it.
