Too Late

It is never too soon to be kind, for we never know when it will be too late. — Grandma Danny.

Whatever one reads for inspiration — the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, the poetry of Rumi, the words of Confucius, etc. — I have come to understand it needs to be a living breathing text. When I was a child, I was taught that it was a mortal sin the despoil a bible. It probably would have been a sin in my case given my inability to do anything with crayons but scribble, and my inability to write legibly.
Grandma Danny hardly despoiled her bible by writing in its margins and by attaching sayings and prayers. It has become a living breathing source of inspiration for Suzy and I and hopefully many others.
I see people walking around with their Bible as if it is a prop. Wisdom has taught me that many of the tools given us by God can be used wisely or misused.
A good question we should ask ourselves is do we use the tools of God for his purposes or our own?
