Forbidden Fruit

With persuasive words she led him astray, she seduced him with her smooth talk. — Proverbs 7:21
I have male friends who the same words above would be equally true if you substituted the “she” with a “he.” We are often impelled toward the forbidden. We often confuse want with need, mere lust for love, and entertainment for inspirational.
It is in our nature, whether it comes from the original bite of the apple or our DNA. If there is one thing that Jesus taught us all in the beatitudes it is what seems to be the right way is usually the opposite.
Jesus offers us a bridge to distinguish one from the other and to eliminate our confusion.
