Enjoy Life

Found in Grandmother Danielson’s Bible is a series of statements such as “I asked for health, that I might do greater things, I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.” The point of these statements is to say that it is often we are not always given what we ask for, but instead received what we need the most.

I was struck by them all, but perhaps the one that touched me the most is the following:
“ I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life, I was given life that I might enjoy all things…”
One struggle we all have is with the material world’s daily bombardment that if we only had more “things” our life would be so much better. Grandma Danny reminded me this morning to cherish life and to enjoy all the things I have.
