Saturday After Ash Wednesday

We live in a multi-tasking world that tugs at every second in our day and demands our undivided attention just like a young child.

Lent draws our attention back to what’s important. Fasting causes us to focus on spiritual food. Prayer puts us into a conversation with the best life coach there ever has been. Meditation draws our attention from the outside noise and toward the messages we need to receive from our heart, soul, and mind. Reading the Bible and other spiritual works brings God front and center in our everyday thoughts and conversation.
During Lent the outside demands become secondary to our journey to the heart of God. Those outside demands are like billboards we can easily ignore.
