For Giving

A light bulb went off in my head the other day, and I realized that I had missed something for some 67 odd years. I must be the only person who reads and understands the English language that hadn’t realized that the word “Forgiving” is actually two words — For and Giving. Duh!
That’s right it finally sunk in that God is for giving, makes as much sense as God is forgiving. We are called to forgive, makes as much sense as we were made for giving.
To forgive requires we give up all those harsh feelings, nasty thoughts, and desire to do harm. We give up the negative and give out love.
When we think of forgiving as an act of giving it puts a new spin on what we all know is difficult and sometimes almost impossible. Maybe if I think of forgiveness as an act of giving from my heart it will get me to where I want to be.
Hubbell, sometimes I wonder what planet you are on.

  1. I LOVE this thought and plan to spend some time thinking and meditating on these words. They go right together with “reconcile” — like peas and carrots, as Forrest Gump said.

Thank you, my Friend. I am free of one of the last vestiges of grief and moving into the light, where I will stay.
