Joy

It was said of one preacher that “his smiles were fraught with greater meaning than his sermons.” There is nowhere in the good book that says we should be solemn and dower. Joy is a product of abundance, and nowhere do we experience abundance more than in God’s love. Joy is not something we can buy at a store, and if joy comes from material things or worldly moments they are temporary and fleeting. So how do we acquire a more permanent and lasting joy?

We focus on the abundance we receive from God every day — our existence, our family, nature, beauty, a child’s smile and all those thing that are the product of God’s love. We ignore our own selfish needs and we truly experience joy filling the needs of our neighbor. It’s not rocket science we find joy in the smiles of others, and our smiles are a reflection.
