Stubbed Toes

We always have an opportunity to see ourselves in the bad behavior of others. We have an opportunity to see what God expects of us when we experience insensitive and selfish conduct. Perhaps the best teacher is our own instant reaction to thoughtlessness.

In your daily meditation take a moment to consider a moment when you were upset, peeved, or feeling jacked around and then ask yourself what lesson you have just learned about your own conduct. Forgive the perpetrator and tell yourself you have just been given a gift.

Changing one’s attitude toward minor upsets trains one’s mind and heart for the major upsets and tragedies that happen to us all. So the next time someone steps on your toes just say thank you and learn to watch your step.
