Equal To The Event

Thus man is made equal to every event. He can face danger for the right. A poor, tender, painful body, he can run into flame or bullets or pestilence, with duty for his guide. R. W. Emerson.

It is easy to see injustice, shake our head, and say to ourselves, “there is nothing I can do about it.” But just as God’s eternal will is to overcome evil with good, we also are created in God’s image. I don’t suggest you run through fire or take a bullet, but I do suggest that our call includes redressing injustice or spend our life in the attempt. God stands ready to help you or those who come after you. The devil whispers, “be safe.” God shouts, “Go for it!”
